I was going to try to get my $50 dollars, but you had to sign this long form that you felt paypal had over charged you. I had only used paypal like 2 times, so I figured it wasn't worth it. I wonder what these companies are doing to keep getting these class action lawsuits against them. Also I have heard that sometimes people do this as a scam, so watch out.

I am starting to realize that for a site that you ...

I am starting to realize that for a site that you don't really plan to sell off the domain, a long name isn't that bad if it's descriptive. The longest name I have is cutekittenpictures.com and it seems to get a bit of type in traffic because that is what people are looking for. Domainers generally look for short names to resell, but for sites, a long name isn't bad. Although that one is a bit too long and harsh IMO.

I've seen several settlement websites, and they al...

I've seen several settlement websites, and they all seem to be fairly long names, but I've never seen one that long. For 99% of websites, a short name would work best, but for a site such as this, the long name works best. They are not trying to sell anything (actually quite the oppposite), they are not looking for any type-in traffic, and they really don't care if it is buried in Google's SERPs for common keywords. Maybe, they are are hoping that some people will just look at that name and give up on the claiming the settlement right then and there.

Always an interesting read.. thanks!I've always su...

Always an interesting read.. thanks!

I've always subscribed to the "domain name is as long as it needs to be and no longer" school of thought. I prefer keywords or keyword phrases and 3 words or a hyphen don't scare me as long as it gets the job done and the thought across... and, as I've always maintained, the ext is the least of the equation. It's what's in front of the [dot] that counts IMO.
